The history of Ukraine's football kits began on 29 April 1992, with a friendly match against Hungary. The first kit was produced by Umbro, a popular brand at the time. As it was the national team's early days, numerous friendly matches were played.
Then, in 1997, German "Puma" came. Many people remember Puma-time because the legendary Ukrainian footballer Andriy Shevchenko showed the world he was a great player. And in my opinion, it was real men's football. But our team, unfortunately, did not get lucky.
In 2002, after Puma, it was Italian Lotto until 2008. It was a wonderful time for Ukrainian football history—Ukraine's first-ever appearance at a World Cup finals in 2006, and they did very well.
From 2009 to 2016, we used "adidas". The most beautiful and popular fan shirt was the Euro 2012 kit. With adidas, it was a time of change, as many great players paved the way for younger ones.
In 2017, the Ukraine national team started wearing Spanish "Joma". In my opinion, Joma made nice designs. But I still don't understand why they released a third kit in an Arabic luxury style. Anyway, we played pretty well in the 2018/19 League of Nations. Also, we beat the Euro 2016 champions—Portugal with CR7—and directly qualified for Euro 2020. There, we reached the quarter-final. Very good, isn't it? And the Joma story is still in progress, so we'll see where it goes...
And a new old story begins...
So far, the Ukrainian national football team has played in 42 different kits (1992-2024).
